This dramatic/musical presentation will highlight the Trials and Tribulations of Fannie Lou Hamer and her quest in securing the ballot to vote in Mississippi some 60 years ago. She was one of the first Women of the Civil Rights Movement.
Fannie Lou spoke truth to power in her fight to challenge an unjust system which presented barriers preventing the Negro’s ability to vote.
It will allow insight to the tumultuous journey she would have to take and the humility endured each step of the way!
The Reverend Carolyn Baskin Bell will be portraying Fannie Lou Hamer directed by Larry Robinson, SOA President at FAME Santa Monica.
Fannie Lou is a true icon of the civil rights movement whose unwavering spirit continues to emphasize the significance of voting and the right to protect it. Let us come together and celebrate her legacy as we share in the profound impact made on our society.
